National Museum
The National Museum is a proud representation of Oman's history and identity. It opened in 2016 and is set in Old Muscat's historic neighborhood, combining traditional legacy with modern presentation. Over 7,000 rare treasures await tourists inside, including ancient maritime instruments, early Islamic manuscripts, and archeological wonders. The museum's design recalls Omani architecture, but its technology enhances the visiting experience, including immersive digital galleries, high-definition cinema, and one of the region's first open-storage restoration labs. Children and families are greeted with exciting educational zones, while individuals with special needs will find accessible areas, Arabic Braille, and personalized services. Whether you're exploring ancient Dhofari incense routes, admiring medieval weaponry, or taking a virtual tour on your smartphone, the National Museum provides a dramatic, unique cultural experience.
